Extracurricular activities, which are approved by the district and school-sponsored, provide leadership development and practice opportunities that enrich student preparation for post-secondary experiences.
The our fine arts programming cultivates students' creativity, innovation, and self-confidence by blending science-related concepts with essential skills for a well-rounded, 21st-century workforce. In addition to the program, Art Club, Drama Club, Honor Choir, Dance, Ukulele Team, Xylophone (marimbas), and Drum Core offer extra opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
Beyond the arts, extracurricular offerings also include interest-focused clubs, safety patrol, cheerleading, sports coaching by the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Houston staff, and Odyssey of the Mind programming. Music instruction provides students with the opportunity to display their talent in holiday musicals and annual performances, while art classes encourage students to explore their abilities and showcase their work in school art shows and competitions, such as the Rodeo Art.
The objective of promoting student engagement in extracurricular activities is to encourage well-rounded citizenship and provide students with avenues to apply their skills, attitudes, and knowledge.
